Pope Francis Calls For ’Legitimate Redistribution’ Of Wealth

Pope Francis is calling for governments to redistribute wealth to the poor in order to stop the global “economy of exclusion.”
Francis made a speech on Friday to United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and the heads of major U.N. agencies, who met in Rome, The Associated Press reported.Francis asked the U.N. to begin a "worldwide ethical mobilization" to embrace the poor with a spirit of generosity. He said policies must be developed to stop the root causes of poverty and hunger, ensure dignified labor for everyone, as well as protect our environment.
"Specifically, this involves challenging all forms of injustices and resisting the economy of exclusion, the throwaway culture and the culture of death which nowadays sadly risk becoming passively accepted," Francis said.
