The Entire Swedish Government is Reportedly Considering Immediate Resignation
The Swedish government could potentially resign today.
This according to sources that spoke to SVT Nyheter and Aftonbladet.
"Yes, there is absolutely a potential risk that Prime Minister Stefan Löfven will hand in his resignation," says a source to SVT.
In a press conference this morning, the Swedish opposition leaders announced a motion of no-confidence against interior minister Anders Ygeman, defence minister Peter Hultqvist and infrastructure minister Anna Johansson following an IT-leak scandal at the Swedish Transport Agency.
The situation has suddenly backed the sitting government into a corner - to the point that they are considering resignation.
"If the government falls, we need to take responsibility, and we are ready to govern," says a source from Moderaterna to Aftonbladet.
The government is currently holding a meeting at Rosenbad in Stockholm, and is expected to hold a press conference later today.
