The Paris Attacks and the Willful Blindness of the Left

Youtube description: Last Friday, members of the Islamic State carried out terrorist attacks in Paris, France leaving 129 people dead and many more hospitalized with injuries. The attacks should have surprised no one - the writing was on the wall as soon as western Europe opened its doors to hundreds of thousands of refugees whom they knew nothing about. When news surfaced that the attackers had snuck in with the other so-called refugees, I thought this might be the watershed event that finally shakes leftists from their delusions. But my hopes were dashed less than 24 hours after the attacks, when Rolling Stone published an article urging Europeans not turn away the refugees but to admit even more of them. Europeans should do this, the author implored, because it will make them “better” than the terrorists. The author makes it sound like ISIS is driven by his own demented mentality. He thinks that once ISIS sees how morally upright Europeans are, they’ll call a truce and stop murdering infidels. The article is a window into the left’s willful blindness toward reality. It should be obvious to the author that a group who routinely beheads people for treason and throws homosexuals off of rooftops are not operating from the same moral foundation as Western liberals, who are desperate to status signal to others how morally righteous they are. The members of ISIS are premodern savages who assiduously follow the Koran and who view Western moral one-upmanship as a fatal weakness.
