Hours spent glued to the TV stuffing our face with snacks, it’s no wonder so many of us are left with dodgy tickers.

But now a watch has been designed that can predict the precise time a person will die – in a bid to make them savour every moment.

Dubbed ‘the death watch’, Tikker counts down from the years to the seconds remaining until the wearer’s demise.

Swedish inventor Fredrik Colting created it after his grandfather’s death made him realise ‘nothing matters when you are dead, what matters is what we do when we are alive’.

Users fill out a questionnaire that asks – among other things – how much they drink or smoke, their medical history, weight and how much they exercise.

Their age is deducted from a score to predict a death date – and the countdown begins. Mr Colting said: ‘Some people go through near-death experiences or serious illnesses and come out of it with a new way to look at life.

‘They no longer sweat the small stuff, but are simply happy to be alive. Hopefully, Tikker can accomplish this.’

A Kickstarter page has been set up to raise the £15,500 needed so the Tikker can go on sale in April for about £36.
