Venezuelan president kicks out US diplomats, declares no ‘cordial ties’ until sovereignty respected

Lately:

- The U.S. government was/is unable to extradite Julian Assange from the U.K., as the WikiLeaks founder is presently holed up safely (relatively) in the Ecuadorian embassy,

- It was revealed the NSA was spying on Brazil’s President and monitoring her personal communications. A resounding diplomatic snub of the White House followed, and President Rousseff blasted the U.S. "with a speech before the UN General Assembly".

- The U.S. was accused of being the ringleader in the "imperialist western" grounding of the President of Bolivia’s plane in Europe over U.S. whistleblower Edward Snowden. President Morales threatened to close U.S. embassies,

- U.S. diplomats were allegedly trying to influence politics (or potential coups, as is traditional) in Venezuela and have summarily been ejected.

It would seem that the United States isn’t having a good ol’ time in South America.

(If it makes Obama feel any better, Venezuela’s out of toilet paper.)

Maduro went even further than kicking out the diplomats, including Kelly Keiderling, temporarily in charge of the U.S. Embassy in Venezuela.

“Until the U.S. government understands it has to respect Venezuela, which is a sovereign country, there will simply be no cordial relations, nor cordial communication,” Maduro said at a cabinet meeting, according to China’s Xinhua.
