Translation: The smooth planks in a Viking ships are built from fresh wood. The construction is lightweight and flexible and demands material quality. As a basic principle you follow the wood's natural structures in order to achieve lightweight, agile and strong elements. The planks is cleaved so the right strains can be cut with an axe. It takes approximately 4 ½ day to cleave, rough cut and customize one plank.
