Citing Safety Concerns, Auburn University Cancels Richard Spencer Event

By |

Auburn University has just cancelled Richard Spencer's speaking event, which was scheduled to take place on Tuesday, April 18th.

A brief statement on the university's website states:

In consultation with law enforcement, Auburn canceled the Richard Spencer event scheduled for Tuesday evening based on legitimate concerns and credible evidence that it will jeopardize the safety of students, faculty, staff and visitors.

Shortly after receiving the news, Richard released a video in which he announced that he will still be attending Auburn at the scheduled date and time.

This is undoubtedly the right decision. We cannot allow the Leftist terrorism to inhibit free speech – in particular, our free speech.
