Marine Le Pen Loses Immunity, Could Face Prosecution for Posting Photos of ISIS Victims on Twitter
French presidential candidate Marine Le Pen has been targeted by the EU establishment.
European Union lawmakers lifted the EU parliamentary immunity of French presidential candidate Marine Le Pen on Thursday for tweeting pictures of Islamic State violence.
Le Pen, who leads her National Front party in the European legislature, is under investigation in France for posting three graphic images of Islamic State executions on Twitter in December 2015, including the beheading of American journalist James Foley.
Le Pen's immunity shielded her from prosecution. By lifting it, after a request from the French judiciary, the parliament is allowing any eventual legal action against her.
Notice that the French judiciary specifically requested that Le Pen’s immunity be lifted.
Could this, perhaps, be because Le Pen, an anti-establishment candidate, actually has a decent chance of winning the French presidential election in April?
Regardless, it’s absurd that posting pictures of ISIS executions on the Internet is illegal in France. Marine is facing charges of “publishing violent images”, which may result in three years in prison and a fine of 75,000 Euros.
Even if Le Pen’s legal woes are unrelated to her problematic views, this is exactly the kind of tactic one would expect the globalist ruling class to implement against dissenters. They clearly can’t come out and charge Le Pen with “opposing globalism”, but they can look for any excuse to take her out through other means.
Still think it sounds farfetched?
Keep in mind that this is exactly what they’re doing in America to Trump – first, with Flynn, and now, with Sessions.
I pray that nationalist politicians in the West will prove able to navigate – and, eventually, overcome – the legalistic nightmare that accompanies opposition to the globalist status quo.
