NASA in legal battle with veteran astronauts (Video)

"NASA and some of its most famous astronauts are locked in a legal battle over collectables acquired during their space missions.Commander Jim Lovell and his crew of Apollo 13 successfully wrestled their damaged spacecraft home in 1970.
But, recently Lovell attempted to sell a checklist used in the expedition, and unsuspectingly fetching more than $300 000 for it, attracted opposition from the US space agency.
Now NASA has blocked Lovell and other astronauts from selling their memorabilia, which the agency allowed them to take home 40 years ago, angering some veteran space explorers."

Ed Note: If these astronauts were, at the time, given these artifacts, then they OWN the artifacts, and should be able to do as they wish with them. If NASA needs them back so badly, surely they can simply attend the auction! ;)
Furthermore, NASA has a terrible track record and in no way should be allowed to handle/possess/store the artifacts. They themselves were responsible for the alleged ’loss’ and destruction of the ORIGINAL footage of man’s first voyage to the moon.
Moon landing tapes got erased, NASA admits
So the more artifacts we keep out of THEIR hands the better, to my mind.
