Lena Dunham sexually molested her younger sister

Girls creator Lena Dunham has called right-wing website National Review’s accusation that she molested her younger sister, Grace, “upsetting and disgusting.”
On Thursday, National Review writer Kevin D. Williamson suggested that Dunham abused her sister, citing a passage in Dunham’s book Not That Kind Of Girl in which Dunham describes looking at Grace’s vagina: “Grace had stuffed six or seven pebbles in there. … Grace cackled, thrilled that her prank had been such a success.”
“Dunham’s writing often is unclear (willfully so, it seems), but the context here — Grace has overheard her older sister asking whether her baby sister has a uterus — and Grace’s satisfaction with her prank suggest that Grace was expecting her older sister to go poking around in her genitals and inserted the pebbles in expectation of it,” Williamson wrote. “Grace is around one year old at the time of these events. There is no non-horrific interpretation of this episode.”
Williamson also describes Dunham’s childhood tactic of bribing Grace with “three pieces of candy if I could kiss her on the lips for five seconds” in order to feel as though she and her sister shared a connection as sexual abuse.
Dunham came out swinging against the accusations, writing on Twitter that Williamson’s story “isn’t just LOL — it’s really f–king upsetting and disgusting.”
“And by the way, if you were a little kid and never looked at another little kid’s vagina, well, congrats to you,” Dunham continued. “Usually this is stuff I can ignore but don’t demean sufferers, don’t twist my words, back the f–k up bros.”
“I told a story about being a weird 7 year old. I bet you have some too, old men, that I’d rather not hear. And yes, this is a rage spiral. Sometimes I get so mad I burn right up. Also I wish my sister wasn’t laughing so hard.”
