DOJ broke own rules in AP investigation "Amid the Justice Department scandal, perhaps more than ever before, journalists and citizens are raising questions over the freedom of the Press. While details of the investigation remain murky, there are very clear guidelines when it comes to the Justice Department issuing subpoenas. These are standards the DOJ set for itself."
