The Politically Correct Dukes of Hazzard

Editor's comment: In the same week gay marriage became legal nationwide, the Confederate flag was being removed and TV Land decided to stop showing re-runs of the popular 1970's show The Dukes of Hazzard, because of the Confederate flag on their famous car, The General Lee. So this comedy sketch, made just 6 years ago by Jeff Foxworthy and Larry The Cable Guy was prophetic. My how far have we slid down the PC slippery slope.
The Shalom at 2:13 is also accurate. There were several Jewish writers working on the 1970's Dukes of Hazzard show. TV Land's key executives, who decided to pull the re-runs are also Jewish.
The 2005 movie remake of The Dukes of Hazzard was written by Jon Davis, who is Jewish and admittedly had never even been in the deep South. His version indeed did have politically correct elements. Jon said that at one time, the studio was considering having an African American actor play Boss Hogg. He made Cooter a Latina lesbian instead of a White male, hinted that Daisy was bisexual, made Luke's girlfriend black and portrayed Southerners with low intelligence and terrible hygiene.
