This Guy Is Looking At Life In Prison For Leaving Bacon At A Mosque

I’m sure you remember the terrible “Islamophobic” attack on New Year’s Eve where someone left bacon inside a mosque in Florida, right? This petty vandalism was hyped by the liberal media as proof that Muslims are under attack in America. As silly as it seems to most normal people, it turns out this is some serious shit. The perpetrator of the pork-related hate crime is actually looking at life in prison. No joke, this guy could spend the rest of his life behind bars for dropping a slab of bacon in a mosque.

News 10 reports that while most people were watching the ball drop in Times Square, 35-year old Michael Wolfe was ringing in the New Year in Titusville Florida with an act of vandalism. He broke into the Islamic Society of Central Florida Masjid Al-Munin Mosque. Wolfe did some minor damage and then on his way out left pieces of raw bacon near the entrance of the mosque.

Surveillance video allowed authorities to identify and arrest Wolfe. He now sits in a Brevard County jail awaiting trial. He was denied bail. I know you are probably thinking that it is ridiculous that they denied bail for some petty vandalism. This is a minor crime at best; even accused murderers get let out on bail. Well, as you will soon see this is a special crime that calls for special measures.

What complicates this case for Wolfe is that he had a machete with him when he broke into the Mosque and the fact that he left bacon. He has been charged with armed burglary of a structure and criminal mischief of a place of worship with a hate crime enhancement. Had Wolfe left the machete and bacon at home he’d probably looking at a misdemeanor vandalism charge but instead:
The state attorney’s office reviewed the case and brought formal charges against Wolf earlier this month. Both charges now carry hate crime enhancements, which means the potential sanctions in the event of a conviction are increased. In the case of the armed burglary charge, Wolfe could now face up to life in prison if found guilty of the charge…

Let’s keep in mind that the mosque was empty at the time of the break in. Nobody’s life was ever in danger and Wolfe never threatened anyone. If he had beaten someone to death in a bar fight he wouldn’t be facing life in prison. If he raped a nun he wouldn’t be looking at a life sentence. Yet he tosses some raw bacon in a mosque and he might go away for good. How does this make any sense?

“Our charging decisions confirm how seriously we take crimes of this nature. When further investigation shows a crime is clearly hate motivated, it will not be tolerated,” State Attorney Phil Archer said.

Nope. Sorry, it still doesn’t make any sense.

With the liberals clamoring for justice reform, maybe they should start with a system that can dole out a life sentence for a non-violent crime like this. They won’t because Muslims are a protected class of people and Wolfe made the mistake of offending them.
