Miley Cyrus Gets Her Kit Off For 'Paper', Becomes Social Activist

Ok, now we all just want to be being Miley. In a really awesome cover story for Paper, Miley Cyrus talks about a lot of things, and they're all great. The interview surprisingly outshines the photographs, but that's not to say they aren't great, too – with Miley totally nude, decorated only with pastel dayglow, all-seeing eyes, dangly bits (sometimes) on her crotch, on a minimal Memphis-y set.

She talks about doing her new record on her own terms (and listening to the Flaming Lips, a little Gucci Mane, a little Waylon "almost exclusively" in the process), despite advice from her people, "Don't make it too weird, don't make it avant-garde; you can't go from Miley to Björk!" (Hoping it's more weird than Björk, just quielty).

She talks about her sexuality, "Yo, I'm down with any adult -- anyone over the age of 18 who is down to love me," and gender identification "I don't relate to being boy or girl, and I don't have to have my partner relate to boy or girl."

She talks about coming out as bisexual to her mum at age 14, "I remember telling her I admire women in a different way. And she asked me what that meant. And I said, I love them. I love them like I love boys," she says. "And it was so hard for her to understand. She didn't want me to be judged and she didn't want me to go to hell."

Most importantly she talks about Happy Hippie, a foundation designed to raise funds and awareness for homeless and LGBT youth. Inspired partially by the death of Leelah Alcorn, a transgender girl who committed suicide in 2014 after being forced to undergo something called 'conversion therapy'. "We can't keep noticing these kids too late," she says.

"I can't drive by in my fucking Porsche and not fucking do something," she adds (in regard to impossible-to-ignore homelessness). "I'm standing there with my tits out, dressed like a butterfly. How the fuck is that fair? How am I so lucky?"
